Ruth House -hope for broken African women 2

WomenHere is a fairly ordinary picture of women on our base. How many have breast cancer? The western women will know, or can easily find out. But the black women?

Ghana only has 2 breast screening machines, given by China and received thankfully. But they are 10 years old. So what do the women do?

Mary has had so many women saying to her, “Mama, I have this lump. What am I going to do?”

African women are just that –  women. They have all the joys and sorrows of women worldwide, but they have a very tough deral when it comes to those illnesses which touch women.

Does this touch your heart –  it does mine. But why have I written about this on the Ruth House page?

Because violence against women is another world wide sickness which touches women. It touches my heart as much as lumps in the breast which bring such despair. But it seems very hard to get this message to touch the hearts of women in the U.K. Imagine finding a lump in your breast, and all the anxiety that brings. Now  imagine having your face smashed by your husband, and being able to do nothing about it.

“We must unite. Violence against women cannot be tolerated,
in any form, in any context, in any circumstance, by any political
leader or by any government.

I know that this is a hard hitting page, and please forgive me. But the need for Ruth House is urgent, and getting more urgent every day. The longer we wait, the more pain there will be to heal.
