Ruth House – hope for broken African women

Hope for broken African womenRecently, Ghana has just passed the “Violence against Women” act, an attempt to face the situation of violence against women within marriage.

As we were thinking about this issue as a team, God spoke to Jim Smith:- “Build a hostel for these women.”

So we began to plan for Ruth House, a small home where women could escape from the violence, and where they could re group, get medical attention, and think about what to do next.

So far, we have bought the land, and are preparing to build the wall.

The need is urgent. Recently a story appeared in the Daily Graphic, ( Ghana national paper)  which reported:-  ”When he had raped his wife, he poured acid on her vagina, and threw her out of the house.”

The need is urgent. The Mission  is making no appeals for money, as is its usual way. But Ruth House will certainly be built.

Jim Smith has written some very painful poems on this theme. Click on the link to read or download them.
